The 2017 Jeep Compass, AKA the baby Grand Cherokee. It is a five passenger crossover SUV and it the little Jeep that could. While the other Jeep models are getting updates to further cement a specific position, the Compass exists as the ever-popular Jeep that keeps chugging along year after year.
Updates for 2017:
No major changes for 2017. The Jeep Compass is expected to be replaced in 2018.
The 2017 Compass has the inclusion of the Uconnect 430N System with navigation. This Uconnect system is available on both the Limited and Latitude models and comes with numerous features such as Garmin GPS, Sirus XM Satellite Radio, Hands-free calling and voice texting, and much more. Another notable feature of the interior design of the 2016 Compass is the standard acoustic windshield. The windshield is designed to reduce cabin noise of traffic and wind and to hear inside the Jeep much easier.
The Compass comes with the option of a 2.0L DOHC 16V engine rated at 158 horsepower and up to 30 MPG on the highway. The other available engine is the 2.4L DOHC 16V engine with 172 horsepower and six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2017 Jeep Compass is intended to be an entry-level crossover SUV with a low price of entry to the off-road world. It provides excellent power and comfort without having to break the bank. While the Renegade may have taken one of its biggest selling points, it remains one of the best entry Jeeps for the price.
